By having this in mind, I realize myself where I have been in Thailand the last 4 years and also now; in the south and spending my time at the border of the sea; both the Gulf of Thailand and the Adaman Sea.
Thailand has wonderful beaches and islands. They vary from simple white sand, palm trees and green water up to exclusive resorts with own beaches and all relevant facilities.
In the Adaman Sea, the tail end of Myramar’s mysterious Mergui Archipelago, there are plenty of long undisturbed beaches, natural islands forest and traditional fishing villages. Koh Chang and Koh Phayam are still offering a hippie style life.
When I am writing this we (Mieke and I) are in Krabi. Our favorite activity is going to the beach of Railay. We take our own longtail boat, which brings us in 40 minutes to the beach. During the trip we see eagles hunting above the water.
Railay encompasses a series of spectacular clear bays with lush limestone cliffs that drop right into the azure blue sea. The beach is backed by a string of palm trees that make the best of the powdery white sand and spectacular sunsets. A perfect beach, clear blue-green water, white sand, palm trees and nice temperatures. It’s hot here, every half hour (often shorter) we have to take a bath, in order to cool down. 50 meters further there are a few longtail boats with catering. Food and drinks can be obtained here. At the end of the day the sunset is amazing.
After sunset a longtail boat brings us back to Krabi, to our guesthouse. In the late evening dinner in the local night market, the moon is full, completes the wonderful day.
Conclusion: paradise is here!!
